La exposición «Transylvanian Design Week» (TDW), presentada en la Galería del Instituto Cultural Rumano de Madrid, reúne los mejores proyectos y a los diseñadores más destacados de las ediciones 2023 y 2025 de la bienal TDW. Los organizadores son el Muzeul Secuiesc al Ciucului y el Ayuntamiento de Miercurea-Ciuc (Rumanía).
El comisario del evento es Gyárfás Oláh, reconocido escultor y diseñador, creador de los uniformes del equipo olímpico rumano para los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024, diseñador de la marca de ecodiseño PATZAIKIN y expositor en el proyecto «HEMP – Back to the Future», presentado en el Pabellón de Rumanía en la World Expo Osaka 2025.
La selección es destacable no solo por sus creaciones originales y su diseño contemporáneo, sino también por la manera en que muestra cómo las tradiciones pueden integrarse en el diseño moderno (moda, objeto, joyería, animación experimental e instalaciones artísticas).
Estos creadores y sus obras representan el espíritu de TDW y de la región de Transilvania.
Según el comisario, la exposición es un diálogo entre lo antiguo y lo nuevo, entre el espacio y los diseñadores, entre los propios creadores, e incluso entre los objetos mismos. De este modo, ofrece una visión actual del diseño transilvano, tanto por la selección de sus protagonistas como por la reflexión que propone sobre cómo observamos los objetos que nos rodean, su interacción con el cuerpo humano y nuestra relación con ellos.

Zsolt Burján, Catrinel Săbăciag, Adél-Éva Csató, Botond Csiby-Gindele, Crina Bulprich, Adorján Czirják, Darius Iova, István Esztány, Melinda Kádár, Mara Popa, Hannah Gizella Márkus, Róbert Mátyás, Mihai Gâdei, Antónia Ravasz, Attila Sándor, Sarolt Sógor, Simon George, Melissza Sztojka, Krisztina Vass y Yulia Efros.
Iniciado en 2023, TDW es uno de los mayores eventos de diseño en Rumanía. Su objetivo es reunir a los diseñadores de Transilvania, ofrecer al público una visión de su trabajo y, al mismo tiempo, explorar la posible existencia de una dirección común hacia la que esta comunidad creativa pueda orientarse.
En el marco de TDW se han presentado las obras de casi un centenar de diseñadores locales y se han organizado numerosos programas creativos, atrayendo a miles de visitantes.
The exhibition “Transylvanian Design Week” (TDW), presented at the Romanian Cultural Institute Gallery in Madrid, brings together the best projects and the most outstanding designers from the 2023 and 2025 editions of the TDW biennial. The organizers are the Muzeul Secuiesc al Ciucului and the Municipality of Miercurea-Ciuc (Romania).
The curator of the event is Gyárfás Oláh, a renowned sculptor and designer, creator of the Romanian Olympic team uniforms for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, designer of the eco-design brand PATZAIKIN, and exhibitor in the project “HEMP – Back to the Future”, part of the Romanian Pavilion at the World Expo Osaka 2025.
The selection stands out not only for its original creations and contemporary design, but also for the way it shows how traditions can be integrated into modern design (fashion, object design, jewelry, experimental animation, and artistic installations).
These creators and their works represent the spirit of TDW and the Transylvanian region.
According to the curator, the exhibition is a dialogue between the old and the new, between space and designers, between the creators themselves, and even between the objects on display. In this way, it offers a current perspective on Transylvanian design, both through the selection of participants and through its reflection on how we observe the objects around us, their interaction with the human body, and our relationship with them.

Founded in 2023, TDW is one of the largest design events in Romania. Its goal is to bring together designers from Transylvania, offer the public a glimpse of their work, and explore the potential common direction toward which this creative community may evolve.
Within the framework of TDW, the work of nearly one hundred local designers has been showcased, and numerous creative programs have been organized, attracting thousands of visitors.
