En este encuentro, representantes del Ministerio de Cultura, el Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas y la Casa de la Arquitectura reflexionarán sobre qué significa hoy el coleccionismo público en el ámbito del diseño y la arquitectura. El debate abordará los criterios de adquisición, el mecenazgo del diseño desde las instituciones, los vacíos patrimoniales, los nuevos modelos institucionales, las estrategias para fortalecer una cultura del mecenazgo que consolide el diseño como bien de interés general y el papel de lo público en la construcción de relato y memoria cultural. Un diálogo abierto sobre cómo se construye —y se proyecta hacia el futuro— el patrimonio común.
In this session, representatives from the Ministry of Culture, the National Museum of Decorative Arts, and the House of Architecture will reflect on what public collecting means today in the fields of design and architecture. The discussion will address acquisition criteria, institutional patronage of design, gaps in heritage collections, new institutional models, and strategies to foster a culture of patronage that consolidates design as a matter of general interest, as well as the role of public institutions in shaping cultural narratives and collective memory. An open dialogue on how shared heritage is built—and projected into the future.
