El proyecto propone un recorrido expositivo en torno a los procesos de diseño, poniendo en valor el papel del prototipo como origen conceptual y material de la producción industrial.
Desde hace años, las galerías de design de colección han destacado prototipos de diseñadores y arquitectos como piezas fundamentales en el desarrollo de objetos producidos en serie. Estas obras, realizadas en muchos casos de forma artesanal y con una dedicación exhaustiva al estudio de la materia y la estética, constituyen el primer gesto que da forma a un diseño posterior.
La selección reúne piezas únicas y prototipos que, por su complejidad técnica o escala, no han podido ser replicados industrialmente. Sin embargo, han sido el alma y la base de diseños que, tras su evolución, forman parte de la producción en cadena. La propuesta invita a comprender el prototipo no como un paso previo, sino como una entidad autónoma que concentra investigación, tiempo y pensamiento material.

The project proposes an exhibition journey centered on design processes, highlighting the role of the prototype as the conceptual and material origin of industrial production.
For years, collectible design galleries have emphasized prototypes by designers and architects as fundamental pieces in the development of mass-produced objects. These works—often handcrafted and created with exhaustive dedication to the study of material and aesthetics—constitute the first gesture that gives shape to a subsequent design.
The selection brings together unique pieces and prototypes that, due to their technical complexity or scale, have not been able to be replicated industrially. Nevertheless, they have been the soul and foundation of designs that, after evolving, became part of serial production. The proposal invites viewers to understand the prototype not as a preliminary step, but as an autonomous entity that embodies research, time, and material thinking.
