DOMUS NOVA es una exposición de diseño contemporáneo presentada en el marco del Madrid Design Festival 2026 y vinculada a la programación de FORMA Design Fair Madrid. La muestra propone una reflexión sobre la casa como espacio vivido, sensible y en constante transformación. Entiende el hogar no solo como un lugar físico, sino como un conjunto de gestos y objetos que acompañan la vida cotidiana y definen nuestra forma de estar en el mundo.
Las piezas se despliegan en el patio renacentista del Museo de San Isidro, un espacio de tránsito y recogimiento que forma parte de un museo dedicado a los orígenes de Madrid: desde la arqueología y la época romana hasta la fundación de la ciudad como reino. En este contexto, la exposición establece un diálogo directo entre pasado y presente, activando el patio como un lugar donde distintas capas de tiempo conviven.
Los 44 objetos presentados —firmados por 33 estudios— comparten una aproximación sensible al diseño, basada en la atención al material, al tacto, al peso y a la huella del proceso. Son piezas que no buscan imponerse, sino acompañar, y que reivindican la cercanía, el uso y la permanencia frente a lo efímero. En diálogo con el Museo de San Isidro y su relato arqueológico, DOMUS NOVA propone leer estas obras como pequeñas arqueologías del presente: testimonios materiales de nuestra forma contemporánea de habitar que, con el paso del tiempo, podrían convertirse en los vestigios con los que se estudie la vida cotidiana de hoy.
La participación de THE MASIE se integra en la exposición desde esta misma lógica temporal y material. Sus piezas actúan tanto como soportes para otras obras como como elementos expositivos en sí mismos, diluyendo la frontera entre mobiliario funcional y objeto cultural. Concebidas para el uso cotidiano, estas piezas se presentan aquí como estructuras que sostienen, acompañan y ordenan el espacio, reforzando la idea de la casa como un sistema vivo de relaciones entre objetos.
El proyecto está comisariado por MANERA Magazine, que articula el relato conceptual y editorial de la muestra, y SANTA Living, responsable del desarrollo curatorial y la puesta en escena. La exposición forma parte del Madrid Design Festival 2026 y se integra dentro del ecosistema de FORMA Design Fair Madrid, reforzando el diálogo entre feria y programación cultural expandida. Podrá visitarse gratuitamente del 19 de febrero al 8 de marzo, en el horario habitual del museo.
El patio del Museo de San Isidro, poco transitado dentro del circuito cultural madrileño, se revela así como un espacio idóneo para una experiencia pausada, donde el diseño se presenta no solo como algo que se mira, sino como una forma de estar, de usar y de dejar huella en el tiempo.
DOMUS NOVA is a contemporary design exhibition presented במסגרת Madrid Design Festival 2026 and linked to the programming of FORMA Design Fair Madrid. The show offers a reflection on the home as a lived, sensitive, and constantly evolving space. It understands the home not merely as a physical place, but as a set of gestures and objects that accompany everyday life and define our way of being in the world.
The pieces unfold within the Renaissance courtyard of the Museo de San Isidro, a space of passage and contemplation that forms part of a museum devoted to the origins of Madrid—from archaeology and the Roman period to the city’s foundation as a kingdom. In this context, the exhibition establishes a direct dialogue between past and present, activating the courtyard as a place where different layers of time coexist.
The 44 objects on display—created by 33 studios—share a sensitive approach to design, grounded in attention to material, touch, weight, and the trace of process. These are pieces that do not seek to impose themselves, but to accompany; that advocate closeness, use, and permanence over the ephemeral. In dialogue with the Museo de San Isidro and its archaeological narrative, DOMUS NOVA proposes reading these works as small archaeologies of the present: material testimonies of our contemporary way of inhabiting space that, over time, could become the vestiges through which today’s everyday life is studied.
THE MASIE’s participation is integrated into the exhibition through this same temporal and material logic. Its pieces function both as supports for other works and as exhibition elements in their own right, blurring the boundary between functional furniture and cultural object. Conceived for everyday use, these pieces are presented here as structures that sustain, accompany, and organize space, reinforcing the idea of the home as a living system of relationships between objects.
The project is curated by MANERA Magazine, which shapes the conceptual and editorial narrative of the exhibition, and SANTA Living, responsible for the curatorial development and exhibition design. The show forms part of Madrid Design Festival 2026 and is integrated within the ecosystem of FORMA Design Fair Madrid, strengthening the dialogue between the fair and its expanded cultural programming. It will be open to the public free of charge from February 19 to March 8, during the museum’s regular opening hours.
The courtyard of the Museo de San Isidro, seldom frequented within Madrid’s cultural circuit, thus reveals itself as an ideal setting for a contemplative experience, where design is presented not only as something to be observed, but as a way of being, of using, and of leaving a trace in time.
