DOMUS NOVA es una exposición de diseño contemporáneo presentada en el marco del Madrid Design Festival 2026 que propone una reflexión sobre la casa como espacio vivido, sensible y en constante transformación. La muestra concibe el hogar no solo como un lugar físico, sino como un conjunto de gestos y objetos que acompañan la vida cotidiana y definen la manera de estar en el mundo.
Las piezas se despliegan en el patio renacentista del Museo de San Isidro, un espacio de tránsito y recogimiento integrado en una institución dedicada a los orígenes de Madrid, desde la arqueología y la época romana hasta la fundación de la ciudad como reino. En este contexto, la exposición establece un diálogo entre pasado y presente, activando el patio como un lugar donde distintas capas temporales conviven.
Los 44 objetos presentados —firmados por 33 estudios— comparten una aproximación sensible al diseño, basada en la atención al material, al tacto, al peso y a la huella del proceso. Se trata de piezas concebidas para acompañar, que reivindican la cercanía, el uso y la permanencia frente a lo efímero. En diálogo con el relato arqueológico del museo, DOMUS NOVA propone interpretar estas obras como pequeñas arqueologías del presente: testimonios materiales de la forma contemporánea de habitar que, con el tiempo, podrían convertirse en vestigios desde los que se estudie la vida cotidiana actual.
La participación de THE MASIE se integra desde esta misma lógica temporal y material. Sus piezas funcionan tanto como soportes para otras obras como elementos expositivos en sí mismos, diluyendo la frontera entre mobiliario funcional y objeto cultural. Concebidas para el uso cotidiano, se presentan como estructuras que sostienen y ordenan el espacio, reforzando la idea de la casa como un sistema vivo de relaciones entre objetos.
El proyecto está comisariado por MANERA Magazine, responsable del relato conceptual y editorial, y por SANTA Living, a cargo del desarrollo curatorial y la puesta en escena. La exposición podrá visitarse gratuitamente del 19 de febrero al 8 de marzo, en el horario habitual del museo.
El patio del Museo de San Isidro, poco transitado dentro del circuito cultural madrileño, se revela así como un entorno idóneo para una experiencia pausada, donde el diseño se presenta no solo como objeto de contemplación, sino como una forma de habitar, de usar y de dejar huella en el tiempo.

DOMUS NOVA is a contemporary design exhibition presented as part of the Madrid Design Festival 2026. It proposes a reflection on the home as a lived, sensitive, and constantly evolving space. The exhibition understands the home not only as a physical place, but as a constellation of gestures and objects that accompany everyday life and shape the way of being in the world.
The pieces are displayed in the Renaissance courtyard of the Museo de San Isidro, a space of passage and contemplation within an institution devoted to the origins of Madrid—from archaeology and the Roman period to the city’s foundation as a kingdom. In this context, the exhibition establishes a dialogue between past and present, activating the courtyard as a place where different layers of time coexist.
The 44 objects on display—created by 33 studios—share a sensitive approach to design, grounded in attention to materiality, touch, weight, and the trace of process. These are pieces conceived not to impose themselves, but to accompany daily life, emphasizing proximity, use, and permanence over the ephemeral. In dialogue with the museum’s archaeological narrative, DOMUS NOVA invites these works to be read as small archaeologies of the present: material testimonies of contemporary ways of inhabiting that, over time, could become the vestiges through which today’s daily life is studied.
THE MASIE’s participation is integrated into the exhibition through this same temporal and material logic. Its pieces function both as supports for other works and as exhibition elements in their own right, blurring the boundary between functional furniture and cultural object. Conceived for everyday use, they are presented as structures that support, accompany, and organize space, reinforcing the idea of the home as a living system of relationships between objects.
The project is curated by MANERA Magazine, responsible for the conceptual and editorial narrative, and SANTA Living, in charge of curatorial development and exhibition design. The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge from February 19 to March 8, during the museum’s regular opening hours.
The courtyard of the Museo de San Isidro—rarely traversed within Madrid’s cultural circuit—emerges as an ideal setting for a slow and reflective experience, where design is presented not merely as something to be observed, but as a way of inhabiting, using, and leaving a trace in time.
