Este taller de IE University tiene como objetivo introducir a los niños en el fascinante mundo de la visualización de datos. A través de actividades prácticas y en un entorno relajado, los niños aprenderán conceptos básicos de representación de datos, fomentando la creatividad y el pensamiento analítico. El workshop se impartirá por María Esteban Casañas, Profesora Asociada de IE School of Architecture and Design, junto con estudiantes de diseño de IE School of Architecture and Design (Alex Boubou, Bárbara Hernandez Gaitán, Carlos (Charlie) Loaiza, Elina Lehmkuhl, Mariane Meshaka).
María Esteban Casañas
Premio de Roma en Arquitectura por la Real Academia de España en Roma (2017). Master of Science in Architecture Studies por el Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, 2020) recibiendo el Premio de Tesis de Arquitectura. Profesora del MIT e investigadora en el Self-Assembly Lab (en el MIT, 2018-2020). Investigadora colaboradora en el Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering (Universidad de Harvard, 2018). Máster en Arquitectura por la Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL y Grado en Arquitectura por la Universidad de Edimburgo. Ha trabajado en renombrados estudios de arquitectura (Dominique Perrault Architecture de Paris, Grimshaw Architects de Londres). Incluida en la lista de “Españoles que Cambian el Mundo” (diario La Razón, 2020). Su obra ha sido publicada y expuesta internacionalmente (Boston, Chicago, Edimburgo, Los Angeles, Londres, Madrid, Roma, Seúl, y Venecia). Ha obtenido diversos reconocimientos y becas (LaCaixa, Santander). Actualmente trabaja como Project Lead en MITdesignX en la Escuela de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de MIT, y es Profesora Asociada en la Escuela de Arquitectura y Diseño en IE University (Madrid).

This IE University workshop aims to introduce children to the fascinating world of data visualization. Through hands-on activities and in a relaxed environment, children will learn basic concepts of data representation, fostering creativity and analytical thinking. The workshop will be taught by María Esteban Casañas, Associate Professor at IE School of Architecture and Design, together with design students from IE School of Architecture and Design (Alex Boubou, Bárbara Hernandez Gaitán, Carlos (Charlie) Loaiza, Elina Lehmkuhl, Mariane Meshaka).
María Esteban Casañas
Rome Prize in Architecture by the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (2017). Master of Science in Architecture Studies by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, 2020) receiving the Architecture Thesis Award. Professor at MIT and researcher at the Self-Assembly Lab (at MIT, 2018-2020). Research collaborator at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering (Harvard University, 2018). Master of Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL and Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Edinburgh. She has worked in renowned architectural firms (Dominique Perrault Architecture in Paris, Grimshaw Architects in London). Included in the list of «Spaniards who Change the World» (La Razón newspaper, 2020). Her work has been published and exhibited internationally (Boston, Chicago, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, London, Madrid, Rome, Seoul, and Venice). He has received several awards and grants (LaCaixa, Santander). She currently works as Project Lead at MITdesignX at the MIT School of Architecture and Urbanism, and is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Design at IE University (Madrid).
